“Africa is a land of contrasts and colours, where time is necessary to let the vivid kaleidoscope of colours from sunrise to sunset overwhelm you. From desert to coral coast, the timeless passage of its people, markets and animals leave a strong impression and wishing for more. It is the colours and shapes of this vast and wonderful country that I have attempted to capture.” Jo Muir

Jo was born and educated in Western Australia, has lived in England, Hong Kong and Sydney where she participated in a Master Class at the School of Colour and Design. While in NSW, she participated in three group exhibitions, including the inaugural exhibition of the Spectrum Gallery in the Rocks.

Jo has commissioned works hanging in Jupitors Conrad Hotel in Brisbane, the Sheraton Surabaya, and Downey Court in Sydney and paintings in private collections in the USA, Canada, Norway and Australia.

Returning to Cottesloe in 2000, Jo now works in her own studio and enjoys being close to her three children and seven grandchildren.
